The initiative, co-financed by the Erasmus+ Programme (Key Action 2), gathered participants from KROV (Serbia), Stichting Don Bosco (The Netherlands), and Domka (Slovakia), alongside local participants.
The training welcomed individuals engaged in youth ministry and youth work, both as volunteers and professionals, all united by their dedication to accompanying young people in their growth.
At the heart of the programme was the desire to promote safe, welcoming, and trusting environments, in the spirit of Don Bosco’s educational approach. Through sessions on safeguarding, peer leadership, and youth protection, participants deepened their awareness and reflected on their responsibility towards the young people entrusted to them.
The course was marked by a strong emphasis on non-formal education. Through role-playing, group reflection, and shared experiences, participants explored real-life situations and cultural perspectives, enriching one another through dialogue and collaboration.
Guided by experienced facilitators, the training offered a meaningful opportunity not only for learning, but also for building connections across borders, strengthening the Salesian network committed to the wellbeing of young people.
The Safe & Sound project highlights the importance of continued formation in safeguarding, ensuring that those who accompany young people are supported in creating environments where every young person feels safe, valued, and heard.
