(ANS – Washintsa) – The Achuar Youth Easter, held in the community of Washintsa, proved to be a deeply meaningful experience, characterised by the commitment of the young people who, strengthened by their own identity and culture, joyfully embraced the promise to live and share the faith of the Risen Christ. The gathering brought together 76 young people from the communities of Karakam, Wichimi, Setuch and Yankuntsa, accompanied by their coordinators They erienced the days as a true experience of community, reflection and encounter with Christ. The journey began on Holy Thursday with the liturgy of the washing of the feet, a sign of Jesus’ service and love, inviting the young people to live a faith marked by service to others. On Good Friday, formation sessions were held focusing on the meaning of Christ’s Passion, accompanied by participatory activities. The day was marked by a symbol of profound significance in Achuar spirituality: the “SHIMIUT”, which represents the burial of Jesus. This was followed by the Achuar Way of the Cross and the veneration of the cross. On Holy Saturday, group work and reflections on the experiences of the previous days took place, alongside sporting events that strengthened the bonds of fraternity between the communities, and finally the cultural event/Easter Vigil. Easter Sunday was marked by symbols of profound significance and the Eucharist, celebrated with deep joy by all participants.
