(ANS – Port Chester) – For the Don Bosco parish in Port Chester, New York, Holy Week was a major event. The celebrations began on Palm Sunday and continued over the following days. On Holy Thursday, a packed liturgy took place, attended by the altar servers and Eucharistic ministers of St John Bosco Parish. In addition, some parishioners staged a re-enactment of the Last Supper. On Good Friday the parish welcomed a large crowd of the faithful to the 3 pm liturgy. At the end of the service, the Way of the Cross was staged along the main streets of Port Chester. The procession lasted four hours and concluded with the veneration of the Cross. Thousands of people of all ages joined the procession, bearing witness to how alive and strong the faith is in Port Chester. The Easter Vigil on Saturday was particularly significant, as on this occasion 13 adults were baptised. Finally, on Easter Sunday, many gathered for Mass and to witness the Baptism of 20 children. Afterwards, a fun Easter egg hunt was organised for the little ones. In conclusion, it was an intense week, filled with devotion and love for the Lord.
