(ANS – Ljubljana Rakovnik) – The Easter Vigil and celebration at the Church of Mary Help of Christians in Rakovnik was a long-awaited moment for seven young catechumens, who received the sacraments of Baptism and First Communion. After a year of regular catechism classes and specific preparations, the young catechumens and the parish community rejoiced at this step. Fr Janez Suhoveršnik, SDB, in charge of the Salesian Youth Centre in Rakovnik, who presided over the celebration, praised the courage of the young candidates on their journey of faith, and in particular the reasons of faith, joy and hope that had led them to take this step. The sacred atmosphere of the vigil was created by the singing of the youth choir and the musicians. Also in attendance were the altar servers, the parents and godparents of the newly baptised, and, of course, the young catechumens themselves, who brought joy to the Easter celebration for the whole community.
