(ANS – Dakar) – From 9 to 11 April 2026, economers from the Salesian North West Africa Province (AON) gathered in Dakar for an important formation session. In a context marked by profound changes, this initiative aims to renew and professionalise the management of church works. The  days were designed with a spiritual, organisational and technical approach to lay the foundations for a renewed management system inspired by the principles of the SYSCOHADA and SYCEBNL accounting systems. Furthermore, the gradual adoption of Sage 100 software is a fundamental component of this accounting modernisation. The practical guide is designed to strengthen skills in various areas. The programme covers administrative, financial, budgetary and human resources management. The aim is to achieve a comprehensive mastery of the management cycle. By the end of the course, in fact, the economers are able to handle the administrative documentation required for rigorous management: carrying out stock-taking and monitoring stock levels; creating files in Sage 100, preparing financial statements, recording and entering accounting entries. These objectives reflect a clear ambition of the AON province: to train economers capable of managing with rigour, method and responsibility.
