(ANS – Salerno) – The World Councillor of the Association of Salesian Cooperators (ASC) for the Italy–Middle East–Malta Region, Italo Canaletti, led the formation meeting of the ASC Councils in the Campania-Basilicata Province held on 28 March 2026. Divided into groups, the participants led workshops on themes and objectives proposed by Italo Canaletti, simulating real-life situations in the centres regarding ‘Planning’ by a local Council. Each group dynamically analysed the assigned topic, also reflecting on how the local association currently acts in the face of possible real-life situations. “Belonging” was the second of the major themes explored by the groups; belonging to the Association from the very beginning, and therefore having a pathway for aspirants that is oriented in this direction from the outset. The reflection on Initial Formation and on the importance of having a common purpose was therefore significant. Present were the Salesian Family Provincial Delegate for the IME Province, Fr Tobia Carotenuto, and the Provincial, Fr Gianpaolo Roma, who encouraged the ASC to feel a sense of shared responsibility for the charism. Gabriella Schettini, Coordinator of the ASC Provincial Council then spoke, outlining the three-year programme and the objectives for each area.
