(ANS – Kazembe) – A seminar for International Volunteers took place at the Salesian Community in Kazembe, in the district of Mwansabombwe, from 7 to 11 April 2026. Fourteen International Volunteers took part, coming from the Czech Republic, Poland, Germany, Ireland, Austria and the United States, and two from the Salesian ZMB Province (Zambia-Malawi-Zimbabwe). These Volunteers are serving in various Salesian communities, both in Zambia and in Malawi (Lilongwe). The seminar drew inspiration from the charism of St John Bosco and focused on creating a dynamic environment for reflection, intercultural exchange and the renewal of their shared mission: serving young people. The seminar was interactive, featuring engaging and participatory activities, including group discussions, role-playing and team-building exercises, which fostered openness and collaboration. Participation in the seminar enabled each International Volunteer to share their personal experiences of working with young people, offering food for thought on the many challenges and positive experiences linked to their voluntary work. In addition to the formal workshop sessions, opportunities were provided to take part in an informal cultural exchange between international and local volunteers.
