Brazil – Meeting in Brasília of the Salesian Youth Ministry National Commission

(ANS – Brasília) – On 9 and 10 April 2026, the National Headquarters of the Salesian Network of Brazil (RSB) in Brasília, DF, hosted the meeting of the National Commission for Salesian Youth Ministry (CNPJS, in Portuguese). The event brought together provincial leaders for an intensive programme of listening, data analysis and strategic planning, with the aim of ensuring unity and charismatic fidelity across the various Salesian presences throughout the country. The meeting focused on assessing the Salesian presence among young people and discussing concrete actions, including the fight against femicide. Through an analysis of strengths and weaknesses, four strategic priorities were identified: Charismatic Identity; Vocational Animation; Youth Leadership; and Youth Ministry as an expression of the Salesian mission. Furthermore, the synergy between the various areas of the Salesian Network Brazil (schools, social works and communication) was emphasised, as was the importance of formation programmes such as the SYM Process; Social Commitment: A central point was the dialogue on the fight against femicide, reaffirming the congregation’s commitment to the defence of life and the creation of safe environments free from all forms of violence. The conclusion of the meeting consolidates the synodality of the RSB, ensuring the continued action of Salesian youth ministry as an agent of social and spiritual transformation in all regions of Brazil.
