(ANS – Mumbai) – On 12 April 2026, around 476 young migrants, both men and women, far from their homes in Assam and the Garo Hills, gathered to celebrate Easter and the Feast of Divine Mercy. The gathering was organised by the Don Bosco Suraksha Migrant Desk in Matunga, Mumbai, a space that has always served as a point of reference for young migrants navigating the frenetic pace of the metropolis. Fr Daniel Sangma, SDB, of the Salesian parish of Satgaon, in Assam, presided over the Eucharistic celebration. His homily conveyed a personal message to all those present. Speaking of Divine Mercy, he gently reminded the young people that in Jesus’ wounds there is also room for our own fragility. That hope is not the absence of suffering, but something we carry within us, in the midst of it. For young people living far from home, grappling with uncertainty and homesickness, those words held a profound and silent meaning. Following Eucharistic Adoration and the Divine Mercy Rosary, volunteers from Don Bosco Youth Services (DBYS) livened up the gathering with games and activities.
