(ANS – Madrid) – On 14 April, the Provincial House of the Salesians of Spain’s St James the Greater Province held a formation session on Artificial Intelligence (AI) applied to the management of projects and processes in social and educational institutions. The event, organised by the Don Bosco Confederation of Salesian Youth Centres, brought together staff from the technical services departments of the Federations of Salesian Youth Centres. The session was led by Roberto Trujillo, who conducted it with a practical approach tailored to the realities of Salesian social and educational organisations. During the session, practical aspects were addressed, such as the new way of understanding teamwork when AI is integrated into it. The tools available within the Google ecosystem were also illustrated, with particular attention to “Gemini” and “NotebookLM”. Discussions also covered how to construct an effective prompt based on three fundamental elements – role, context and task – the importance of organising one’s knowledge to achieve better results, and the responsible use of AI in terms of data protection, with particular attention to sensitive information regarding children and life stories. The formation concluded with a key message: the difference lies not in the tool itself, but in how it is used and the context in which it is applied.
