(ANS – Addis Ababa) – On 9 April 2026, Fr Ignacio Laventure, Superior of the Salesian Province of Africa-Ethiopia-Eritrea (AET), signed a funding agreement with Lucas Bachmayer, Deputy Head of Mission at the Austrian Embassy in Ethiopia, to support the Solar Electrical Engineering and Electronics departments at the TVT Don Bosco Catholic Institute – Bosco Children. The funding will enhance the institute’s capabilities through the purchase of more modern equipment and teaching materials. Established in 2019 with the support of the Austrian Development Agency, the department has trained over 500 young people in intermediate-level electrical skills for the construction sector, and more than 450 graduates are now self-employed in their professions. The Institute expresses its sincere gratitude to the Republic of Austria, in particular to Ambassador Dr Simone Knapp and her team, for their continued encouragement and generous support.
