(ANS – Medellín) – The Salesian presence in the city of Medellín began in 1915 and, a few years later, on 19 April 1926, at the request of the Governorate of Antioquia, it took over the management of the Pedro Justo Berrío School of Arts and Crafts. In 1976, it adopted the model of an Industrial Technical Institute. Today, a hundred years later, the “Pedro Justo Berrío” Salesian Institute is recognised nationally for its contribution to the formation of well-rounded and competent young people, offering secondary technical education programmes in various industrial and technological specialisations, as well as a solid range of vocational training programmes, which has enabled it to establish itself as a quality-certified institution, committed to building a fairer, more supportive and hopeful society.
