Spain – Meeting of Rectors of Salesian Schools in the Province of St James the Greater
(ANS – León) – On 20 April 2026, the city of León hosted a meeting of Rectors of Salesian schools in Spain’s St James the Greater Province (SSM). With all the headteachers in attendance, the main topic was discussed, focusing on the draft plan drawn up by the Schools Coordinator, Óscar Bartolomé, regarding the redesign reshaping of the school environment. The headteachers examined the report, which had been compiled following consultation with around 200 people. Participants also had the opportunity to offer comments and observations. This process of reflection will form the basis of the new strategic plan. The meeting also addressed other topics, such as formation and the various activities carried out during the academic year, including the FP 2026 Congress: ‘Educating people, training professionals’, held on 26 and 27 February. Guidelines were also provided for the development of planning for the coming academic year. The afternoon session focused on various topics, such as quality, professional formation, publishing opportunities, etc. A new phase for the coordination of provincial schools will begin at the end of this academic year, with the hope that the work of this session can be implemented and developed in the years to come, under the guidance of the new coordinator Salesian Sergio Oter.
