(ANS – Yangon) – In recent days, a significant step has been taken towards building a safer digital future, thanks to an interesting digital literacy course aimed at young people in Yangon. A total of 80 participants took part in the course, held from 17 to 23 April 2026, with the aim of acquiring the skills needed to navigate an increasingly complex online world. The initiative was organised by Fr Henry Dau Hawng, Rector of the Don Bosco Hostel in Yangon, and was attended by Fr Andrea Maung Maung, SDB, Delegate for Social Communication for the Myanmar Vice-Province. The participants – a diverse group of young men and women from various parts of Myanmar, currently living in Yangon – followed an intensive programme covering the fundamental aspects of digital life, ranging from basic technical concepts to ethical responsibilities. During the various sessions, Fr Maung Maung emphasised that media literacy is no longer optional and that, in an age where misinformation spreads rapidly, young people must be equipped with the necessary tools to verify what they see and protect their digital identity.
