Argentina – The Fr Cayetano Bruno Salesian Historical Documentation Centre opened in ARN Province

The creation of this provincial centre responds, first and foremost, to the need to safeguard, preserve and promote the historical memory of the ARN Province. A memory that is not limited to the preservation of the past, but which is a living source, capable of shedding light on the present and guiding the future. Furthermore, it aims to offer educators, animators and the entire provincial educative  and pastoral community organised access to the sources of the Salesian charism, thereby strengthening formation and a sense of belonging.

It is, moreover, a valuable service to the Church and to society, in safeguarding a historical and cultural heritage of great significance. In this way, the Historical Documentation Centre becomes a concrete tool for supporting the continuity of pastoral action, promoting reflection and projecting the Salesian charism into the future.

During the opening ceremony, Fr Barbieri expressed his gratitude to those who had made this project possible and said that “The history of our institutions invites us to always maintain these two perspectives: to gather what others have sown and to project ourselves forward, with hope and identity, towards the future. This space is therefore the memory of what we have received”.

This significant occasion was attended by the Director of the Salesian Archives, Fr Claudio González; the Coordinator of Historical and Cultural Heritage, Br Agustín Borzi, a Salesian Brother; and the Director General of the Salesian Domingo Savio House, layman Rúben Arce, together with various members of the local Salesian community.
