(ANS – Hyderabad) – On 27 and 28 April 2026, the Provincial House in Hyderabad was host to an intensive formation programme on Salesian pedagogy, bringing together 57 participants, including headteachers, deputy headteachers and school coordinators from across the province. The speaker, Fr John Parankimalil, Secretary of the All India Don Bosco Education Society (AIDBES) and of the Council of the Salesian Provincial Conference of South Asia (SPCSA), led the sessions with depth and clarity. The workshop, entitled “Educating with the Heart of Don Bosco: A Journey into Salesian Pedagogy”, aimed to deepen understanding of Don Bosco’s educational vision and to provide educators with practical tools to implement his pedagogy in contemporary educational contexts. The first day was dedicated, in particular, to rediscovering the life, mission and educational philosophy of Don Bosco, highlighting his Preventive System. The second day, however, focused on practical application, enabling educators to translate Salesian principles into teaching practices and institutional culture. The workshop concluded with participants renewing their commitment to becoming educators who are not merely instructors, but mentors, guides and companions to young people. The formation reaffirmed that Salesian education is not merely a methodology, but a way of life rooted in compassion, faith and dedication to the holistic development of young people.
