Philippines – Seven Salesians make their perpetual vows
(ANS – Parañaque) — Seven Salesians made their perpetual vows on the feast of St Joseph the Worker, 1 May 2026, at the Minor Basilica of Mary Help of Christians, definitively dedicating their lives to God within the Congregation of St John Bosco. The newly professed are Daniel Drew D. Matias, Dominic Philemon Danladi, Ieth Prak, Tharuka Dulshan Fernando Warnakulasooriya, Noel Joao dos Santos Rosario, Antonio de Padua Marçal and Augustine Saw. Presiding over the Eucharistic celebration, Fr Ronilo Javines, SDB, Superior of the Salesian Province of Philippines North (FIN), described consecrated life as a treasure more precious than silver and gold, rooted in the encounter with the Risen Christ, whose presence sets hearts ablaze. He reminded the newly professed that their vows of poverty, chastity and obedience are a joyful and courageous witness to total fidelity to God and generous service to young people, especially the poor.
