(ANS – Lusaka) – The Planning and Development Office (PDO) of the Zambia-Malawi-Zimbabwe (ZMB) Vice-Province has held a seminar on Financial Quality Management Systems. The meeting, which brought together administrators and accountants from Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi and Botswana, was held with the aim of strengthening practical financial management and compliance systems. On the first day, the following topics were examined and explored in depth: the strategic use of the ERP (ACME accounting system) to support planning, monitor spending patterns, identify cost drivers and improve decision-making; data accuracy and reliability; tax compliance; resource mapping; sustainability strategies; improving efficiency and reducing waste; and contract review. On the second day, the focus was on quality, integrity and trust in every process; participants gained a clearer understanding of how to align financial systems with quality management principles, strengthen internal processes for better control and reporting, and build a culture of accountability, responsible management and transparency within their institutions. The third day focused on strengthening internal controls, risk management and audit readiness as fundamental pillars of effective financial management.
