(ANS – João Pessoa) – The Rector of the Salesian University Centre in São Paulo (UNISAL), Prof. Dr Duílio Fabbri Júnior, took part in the 31st ABED International Congress on Distance Education (CIAED 2026) as coordinator of a scientific session, representing the institution at the sector’s leading event in Latin America. The congress took place from 27 to 30 April 2026 in João Pessoa (PB), bringing together lecturers, researchers, managers and students from Brazil and abroad on ‘Digital, Hybrid and Distance Learning in Transformation’. Prof. Duílio Fabbri Júnior coordinated a session on “Theories and Systems: Bibliometrics and Corporate Training”, which brought together researchers to discuss scientific output on distance learning in corporate contexts, a topic of growing relevance in the Brazilian landscape of vocational and continuing formation. The Rector’s participation in CIAED 2026 reinforces UNISAL’s leading role in the debates shaping the future of higher education in the country. This edition of the conference saw a record number of contributions, with a significant increase in articles in English and Spanish, reflecting the event’s growing internationalisation and the vitality of research in the field of digital education.
