(ANS – Cuenca) – A National Meeting of Volunteers of the Salesian Project Ecuador (PSE) took place in Cuenca at the end of April 2026. The event brought together 10 young people committed to the mission of accompanying and transforming the lives of vulnerable children and adolescents. The main objective of the meeting was to strengthen the formation and development of PSE volunteers, promoting practical tools for integration, teamwork and reflection, in line with the institutional Strategic Plan and the realities of the beneficiaries. Over the course of the event, participants: reflected on and analysed the realities of social exclusion, justice and human dignity, linking these to their voluntary work; took part in training sessions, including the topic “Life Project and Volunteering: an Opportunity for Service”, which invited the young people to integrate their personal vocation with social commitment; addressed the theme of “Volunteering within the PSE Context”, alongside an analysis of the Strategic Plan and the Volunteer Handbook; and analysed issues of great relevance to direct intervention with the people served. The participants visited one of the main centres in Cuenca, where they spent time with working children and adolescents, gaining first-hand knowledge of their reality and reaffirming their commitment to being a meaningful presence in their lives.
