(ANS – Campo Grande) – The retreat house of Lagoa da Cruz in Campo Grande, in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, hosted, on 28 and 29 April 2026, a meeting of parish priests, assistant priests and rectors of the shrines of the Salesian Mission of Mato Grosso. Under the guidance of the coordinator of the parish sector, Fr Delmiro Vieira do Nascimento Júnior, the event brought together the priests for two days of intense reflection, sharing and pastoral accompaniment. The central theme guiding the proceedings was: “The 29th General Chapter: Passionate about Jesus Christ, dedicated to young people – contributions and challenges for parish ministry”. The Provincial of Campo Grande Brazil (BCG) province, Fr Adalberto Alves de Jesus, delivered the opening address, emphasising the urgency of reaffirming the Salesian essence within parish communities. The main formation session was led by Fr João Mendonça, of the Manaus Province and currently Vicar in the Diocese of Ji-Paraná, who guided the participants in examining the Salesian parish in the light of GC29, seeking to put synodality into practice. Finally, Fr Aldir da Silva, Delegate for Youth Ministry, presented the progress of the vocational campaign “Live your mission with God”.
