(ANS – Mavaca) – On Tuesday 6 May 2026, the liturgical feast of St Dominic Savio, the 69th anniversary of the Salesian missionary presence in the Yanomami communities of the Amazon was commemorated. In the words of Fr Albert Pacheco, Rector of the Salesian Presence in Mavaca, gratitude shines through: “The arrival of the first Salesian missionaries, with Fr Luis Cocco as their guide and mentor, is a fundamental milestone in the history of the missions in Venezuela”.
