Philippines – More than just a summer camp, LEAD Camp 2026 concludes with new experiences and stronger bonds

(ANS – Dumaguete City) – Thirty-six student leaders from St Louis School of Don Bosco took part in LEAD Camp 2026, a four-day leadership formation programme held from 27 April to 1 May in Murcia, Negros Occidental. The camp focused on servant leadership, teamwork, spiritual growth and community immersion, offering participants a meaningful experience. The event opened with a session on servant leadership led by Fr John Robert Andales, SDB, pastoral animator at the Don Bosco Technical Institute in Victorias City. Participants then took part in team-building activities, moments of reflection and prayer, and artistic presentations, followed by a talk on the theme “Called to Serve” given by educator and summer camp leader John David Catipay. One of the highlights of the camp was the immersion in the local community, where participants were placed with host families to experience daily life by helping with household chores and interacting closely with them. The third day focused on fellowship and teamwork through an Amazing Race, which concluded with an evening of sharing and the election of the members of the Student Council and the SYM Executive Committee for 2026–2027.
