(ANS – Łódź) – Recently, theology students from the Salesian Seminary in Krakow took part in the national football tournament for seminaries, held in Łódź. The event brought together seminarians from all over Poland, providing an opportunity for both sporting competition and the building of a fraternal community. As in previous years, the gathering began with a joint meeting, moments of integration and the draw for the groups. A special moment was the blessing given by Cardinal Konrad Krajewski, who entrusted the entire tournament to God’s protection. The matches on Saturday, 18 April, were preceded by the most important moment of the day: the Eucharist, which gave the whole event its proper meaning, reminding us that sport and spiritual formation complement one another. The teams then took to the pitches, where they played matches full of commitment and determination right up to the final whistle. Eight teams took part in the tournament, representing diocesan and religious seminaries, which demonstrates the widespread interest in this initiative and the importance of sport in seminary life. After numerous thrilling matches, the Salesian team took second place, beaten only by the team from Tarnów, whilst third place went to the Missionaries of the Holy Family.
