Venezuela – 58th anniversary of the Damas Salesianas celebrated: 58 years of mission in the service of health and education
(ANS – Caracas) – On 13 May 2026, coinciding with the feast of Mother Mazzarello, the Association of Damas Salesianas (ADS or Salesian Women) commemorated the 58th anniversary of its foundation with a solemn Mass in the Church of Don Bosco in Altamira. The celebration was not only an occasion to give thanks for nearly six decades of service, but also a moment of renewal and growth for the institution. During the ceremony, presided over by the Provincial of the Salesian Province of Venezuela (VEN), Fr Rafael Montenegro, a group of 13 aspirants in Caracas officially took their vows, joining the association’s mission. This commitment was made simultaneously by several aspirants at national and international level. The arrival of new members strengthens the Association and ensures the continuity of the social and welfare works envisaged by its founder, Fr Miguel Sánchez, more than half a century ago.
