(ANS – Guatemala City) – To mark the 150th anniversary of the Association of Salesian Cooperators, several houses in the capital gathered for a solemn Eucharistic celebration presided over by Fr Julio Andrés Navarro, Provincial of the Central American Province (CAM). During the Mass, Fr Navarro emphasised the vocation to faithful service and lay commitment which, for a century and a half, has characterised this branch of the Salesian Family. He also highlighted Don Bosco’s legacy and the importance of being “signs and bearers of his charism” in today’s world, especially in the fields of youth work and parish life. At the end of the Eucharist, there was a deeply moving moment when those present were able to venerate the relic of Don Bosco, a gesture that invited them to renew their spirit of dedication and fidelity to the Salesian mission.
