Pakistan – Young Health Care Professionals Gather in Quetta for Nurses’ Day
(ANS – Quetta) – On 12 May 2026, Don Bosco Quetta marked International Nurses and Health Care Workers Day with a gathering at Sacred Heart Church, bringing together young nurses, health care workers, and other young professionals. The program began with a hymn invoking the Holy Spirit. Sr Hina OP led the opening prayer, while Dr Maliha Tariq, DPT, proclaimed the Word of God. Participants lit candles before the altar as a sign of dedication to their vocation. The second part of the event focused on sharing the challenges and opportunities faced by Christian youth in a Muslim-majority context. Several young professionals, especially women, spoke openly about discrimination and social pressures. Fr Samuel Adnan, SDB, encouraged participants to remain models of honesty and to live their Catholic faith as a beacon of hope. Fr Amir Shehzad, OMI, thanked the Salesian Youth Ministry for organising the meaningful initiative, which concluded with a solemn blessing.
