(ANS – Nova Trento) – The Salesians from the communities of the Province of St Pius X in Brazil-Porto Alegre (BPA) gathered from 11 to 13 May 2026 for the 2026 Provincial Assembly. The meeting was held at the CEIC Pousada & Eventos – Centre for Spirituality of the Immaculate Conception – and brought together the religious for moments of prayer, formation, fraternity, and the celebration of jubilees of consecrated life and priestly ordination, as well as for reflections on the province’s journey and Salesian religious life. The assembly was characterised by moments of sharing and reflection on the Salesian vocation in the face of the challenges of the present time. In line with the theme of the six-year term, “Passionate about Jesus Christ, dedicated to young people”, Fr Ademir Ricardo Cwendrych, Provincial of BPA, emphasised the need to cultivate a religious life sustained by a mature love in following Jesus and in community life. The assembly’s reflections were further explored through a formation session led by Most Rev. Murilo Krieger, Archbishop Emeritus of São Salvador da Bahia. The archbishop emphasised the importance of a consecrated life centred on a personal encounter with Jesus and on the authenticity of Christian witness. One of the highlights of the programme was the pilgrimage to the Shrine of St Paulina in Nova Trento.
