(ANS – Péliföldszentkereszt) – On 9 May 2026, the Hungarian Salesian Family gathered for a day of celebration that harmoniously blended spiritual solemnity with the lively, family-like atmosphere promoted by St John Bosco. Organised under the guidance of the Superior of the Salesian Province of Hungary (UNG), Fr Gábor Vitális, the event was a powerful testimony to the enduring vitality of the Salesian charism in the 21st century. The gathering was characterised by a refined balance of activities, ranging from a Holy Mass in the morning to a contemplative rosary walk in the afternoon. True to the founder’s pedagogical roots, the day prioritised joy and community, using interactive games and open dialogue to bridge the generation gap. A highlight of the day was the tribute paid to the Salesian Cooperators, who are currently celebrating the 150th anniversary of their foundation. Their presence, alongside that of the SDBs, the FMA and the young animators, highlighted a unified mission that transcends specific roles within the Church. Despite the diverse social backgrounds and ages of the hundreds of people present, the event succeeded in encapsulating the Salesian spirit in a single experience of belonging. The participants reaffirmed their commitment to a Christ-centred community, setting out with a renewed sense of responsibility to act as links of faith in their respective contexts.
