Poland – 18th Assembly of the Scientific Association of St Francis de Sales in Ląd

(ANS – Ląd) – The 18th Assembly of the Scientific Association of St Francis de Sales (TNFS) was held in Ląd on 14 and 15 May 2026. The meeting brought together representatives from the academic world linked to Salesian spirituality, including university lecturers, researchers and those interested in reflection on science and Christian humanism. An integral part of the event was also a meeting of the editorial board of the “Seminare. Poszukiwania naukowe” journal  (Seminare. Scientific Research). The conference programme included both a scientific and a cultural component. Participants had the opportunity to learn about the history and artistic heritage of Ląd Abbey, in the Piła Province (PLN), one of the region’s most valuable Baroque monuments, and to attend an organ concert performed by Dr Marta Benk. On the second day, a scientific conference was held entitled “Young people in search of meaning: gender identity and transition”. The presentations, the meeting with young people and the participants’ discussions provided a space for in-depth reflection on issues concerning the human person, the process of maturation, values and the search for the meaning of life in the contemporary world. During this conference, the 50th anniversary of priesthood of Fr Prof. Henryk Skorowski SDB – co-founder of the St Francis de Sales Scientific Association, a long-standing researcher at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw, former rector, author of numerous publications and esteemed educator – was also solemnly celebrated.
