(ANS – Nairobi) – A joyful celebration marked the ordination of 14 deacons on 21 May at the Salesian Theologate of Don Bosco Utume in Nairobi. The ceremony was presided over by Bishop Henry Juma Odonya of Kitale. Among those ordained were 12 Salesians, one member of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, and one from the Congregation of the Missionaries, all currently studying at Don Bosco Utume. In his homily, Bishop Odonya reminded the new deacons that their vocation is rooted in service. “You are ordained for service,” he said, urging them to deepen their relationship with Christ through prayer and humility. The celebration gathered the Salesian Family, clergy, religious, relatives, and friends in thanksgiving and prayer.
