(ANS – Goma) – The Salesian Family in Goma experienced an exceptional day of faith, communion and historical remembrance on Sunday 24 May 2026 at the Don Bosco Ngangi Youth Centre. Three main events marked the celebration: the Solemnity of Pentecost, the Feast of Mary Help of Christians and the centenary of the arrival of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA) in the country. Alongside the Salesians of Don Bosco, the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, young people, former pupils, Salesian Cooperators and lay faithful, some relatives of the FMA sisters residing in Goma were also invited to this celebration. The day began with a Marian pilgrimage to the Salesian centre in Ngangi. The highlight of the day was the Eucharistic celebration presided over by Fr Pascal Mumba Kati at the Marian grotto of Don Bosco Ngangi, in the presence of numerous priests, religious and lay faithful. On this occasion, Sister Adélaïde Kilwilo presented a historical overview of the arrival of the first FMA missionaries in the Congo in 1926, in the Katanga region.
