(ANS – Goma) – Nearly two hundred Past Pupils from the Goma Technical and Industrial Institute (ITIG) attended their General Assembly on Saturday 23 May 2026. Focused on fellowship, brotherhood and reflection on the future of the community, the gathering brought together several generations of Past Pupils to strengthen the bonds that unite them in the spirit of Don Bosco. The event also included an official welcome for new members, particularly the ITIG students who are due to graduate and will soon join the large family of Past Pupils. One of the highlights of the gathering was the handover ceremony between the outgoing committee, led by Mr Deo Silimi, and the new committee, led by Mr Patient Paluku. In an atmosphere of fraternity and shared responsibility, the participants praised the outgoing committee for its work, whilst expressing their confidence in the new committee. Addressing the assembly, the new president outlined the main strategic priorities of his term of office. Among the priorities announced were the strengthening of solidarity among Past Pupils, support for young people in formation, and the revitalisation of social and community activities. The discussions also enabled participants to address various issues concerning the future of the organisation, including the mobilisation of Past Pupils, the transmission of Salesian values, and involvement in the educational and social development of young people.
