(ANS – Zway) – The Mary Help of Christians community of Don Bosco Batu (Zway) celebrated a double anniversary with great joy on 29 May 2026: the annual feast of their parish, dedicated to Mary Help of Christians, and the 40th anniversary of the Salesian presence in the mission. For four decades, the Salesians have been serving the local community through parish ministry, primary and secondary schools, the youth centre and various social works, including the two branches in Obe and Dida. The celebration was honoured by the presence of Bishop Abraham Desta, Vicar Apostolic of Meki, and Fr Ignacio Laventure, Superior of the Salesian Province of Africa Ethiopia-Eritrea (AET), together with distinguished religious guests.
