(ANS – Chisinau) – A hundred smiles, a House of Culture resounding with songs and games, an entire village in celebration. This is the scene at the day summer camp currently taking place in Țînțăreni, a small village of around 2,000 inhabitants in the Anenii Noi region, 25 kilometres from the Moldovan capital. The initiative, scheduled from 2 to 12 June 2026, stems from a new and fruitful partnership: the Don Bosco Foundation in Chisinau has signed a collaboration agreement with the municipality of Țînțăreni. An educational partnership in which the local authority has believed from the outset, making available not only the premises of the renovated House of Culture, but also committing to providing free lunch for all participants. The young people are being guided through this wonderful experience by Fr Fabrizio Iacuzzi, together with many youth leaders. “This is another wonderful chapter in the collaboration between our Foundation and local institutions,” comments Fr Andrea Ballan, Director of the Salesian community in Chisinau. But there is one detail that makes this experience even more special and evangelical: there are no Catholics in Țînțăreni! The population consists mainly of Orthodox Christians and Baptists. The Salesian summer camp has thus become an open-air workshop of “practical ecumenism”, where denominational barriers give way to play, sharing and shared growth. In Don Bosco’s courtyard, the only language that matters is that of love for young people. Summer in Țînțăreni has only just begun, but the style of the Saint of Youth has already left its mark, demonstrating once again that education is the most fertile ground for building bridges and communities.
