(ANS – Kraków) – On Sunday 31 May, the Solemnity of the Holy Trinity, the 25th edition of “Orawa for the Children of Africa” took place at the initiative of the Salesian Młodzi Światu” (SWM) Missionary Volunteer Group Kraków, and the Salesian Province of Kraków, Poland (PLS). The 25th “Orawa for the Children of Africa” took place, linked, as in previous years, to a charitable cause. The volunteers, accompanied by the Salesians, visited the nine parishes of the Jabłonka deanery (Orawa region) and two other parishes; at the end of the Holy Masses, it was possible to purchase various souvenirs from mission countries and make a donation, which this year will be allocated to the renovation and extension of a nursery school in the Central African Republic – one of the poorest countries in Africa, torn apart by war for years and consequently facing political instability, extreme poverty and dire conditions regarding healthcare, education and infrastructure. Thanks to this aid, local children will have the chance to live and play safely and grow up in peace.
