(ANS – Duaca) – From 5 to 7 June 2026, the Domingo Savio Youth Centre in Duaca hosted 220 young people from the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM), who took part in the 4th National Meeting of Young Salesian Leaders, under the motto “Da mihi animas, caetera tolle”. During these days, the young people were accompanied by the VEN Provincial, Fr Rafael Montenegro, the Youth Ministry Delegate, Fr Jorge Bastidas, and the Commission for Oratories and Youth Centres, together with various members of the Salesian Family, who facilitated a deeply enriching experience based on Salesian Youth Spirituality and Don Bosco’s Preventive System. The gathering took place in an atmosphere of joy, fraternity and active participation, featuring songs, games, music, theatre and much more. All this helped to strengthen the bonds of friendship and communion among the young people from various Salesian communities. The well-attended Eucharist and the presentation of the Code of Ethics for Youth Centres and Oratories were particularly moving. The theme and logo for OVAS 2026 were unveiled: “Like Jesus, free to love”. This weekend proved to be a special opportunity to continue strengthening communion and synodality among young people, reaffirming youth leadership as the focus of Salesian educational and pastoral experiences.
