Colombia – Education leaders reflect on present and future challenges

(ANS – Medellín) – With the aim of strengthening the provincial educational network, the Provincial Education Meeting was held from 1 to 4 June 2026, bringing together 42 participants, including headteachers, coordinators and school advisers from the network of Salesian schools in the Salesian St Louis Bertrand Province in Medellín (COM). Under the theme: “Ideas come to life in a network”, participants shared experiences and analysed current educational challenges, strengthening collaborative work in support of the Salesian educational and pastoral mission. During the meeting, topics of great relevance to the present and future of the schools were addressed, including current educational perspectives, potential future contexts, the Institutional Educational Project, within the framework of the Global Education Pact and curricular innovation. The meeting also provided an opportunity to strengthen strategic alliances with the institutions that support the educational journey of this Salesian province. In this context, the Provincial Commission for Education held meetings with the research group from EAFIT University and with EDEBÉ, with the aim of promoting the consolidation of educational research initiatives that contribute to strengthening educational processes in Salesian schools. Through this forum, the COM Province reaffirmed its commitment to quality education, capable of responding to the challenges of the contemporary world in the light of Don Bosco’s charism.
