(ANS – Olango) – A group of volunteers from the Salesian Family in Cebu, part of the FIS Province, successfully carried out its annual joint healthcare mission on the island of Olango on 6 June 2026, continuing its commitment to communities with limited access to healthcare services. The initiative brought together healthcare professionals, volunteers and members of the Salesian Family who provided medical, dental and psychological services to the island’s inhabitants. The initiative was coordinated and facilitated by Salesian Fr Godofredo T. Atienza, Delegate of the FIS Salesian Family, in collaboration with the Lawaan Past Pupils and the Olango branch of St Augustine’s Parish. Thanks to this collective effort, residents were able to access healthcare that is often difficult to obtain in island communities. Now in its fourth year, the medical mission continues to reflect the commitment of the Salesian Family and its partners to serving those most in need. In addition to the consultations provided, the initiative fostered a sense of solidarity and care among community members and volunteers. Inspired by the spirit of Don Bosco, the initiative remains a significant expression of service, bringing both practical help and hope to the inhabitants of Olango Island.
