(ANS – Barinas) – With the aim of deepening the roots of the Salesian charism and strengthening institutional identity, representatives from the Educational Works, Training Centres and the Salesian Family in the Barinas – Los Andes area of Venezuela gathered from 12 to 14 June for a period of formation and spirituality. The event, held at the Catechumens’ Retreat House, marked the start of the first module of the Salesianity Meetings, with the theme: “Getting to know Don Bosco and Mother Mazzarello”. During the three-day gathering, participants immersed themselves in the life, work and pedagogical legacy of the two Saints, seeking to renew their educational and pastoral commitment to the young people of the region. The presentation of the talks and the spiritual guidance of the meeting were entrusted to a team from the Salesian Family, comprising Sister Jimena Jaramillo, FMA, Fr Jorge Bastidas, SDB, and Fr Rafael Borges, SDB. Through group dynamics, moments of reflection and theoretical presentations, the participants shared formative experiences that strengthen the networking of Salesian centres in the north of the country. This first module lays the foundations for the next stages of a formation journey that promises to continue transforming educational and community environments in the light of Don Bosco’s Preventive System.
