(ANS – Port Moresby) – The annual Salesian youth gathering “Wantok Bosco 2026” took place from 19 to 21 June at the Don Bosco Technological Institute in East Boroko, bringing together 280 young people from four Salesian institutions and parishes across Papua New Guinea under the theme of the Strenna 2026: “Do whatever He tells you – believers free to serve.” The opening day featured group‑building and collaborative activities that fostered mutual acquaintance, trust and a family spirit. A highlight of the event was the evocative candlelight procession, during which the young people prayed the Rosary in an atmosphere of deep Marian devotion and joyful Salesian spirituality. The evening concluded with the traditional Salesian “Good Night”, delivered by Fr Ariel, who reflected on the BOSCO acronym – Belongingness, Optimism, Service, Communion and Ordinary Duties – offering the young people a concrete path of growth and servant leadership in society.
