Brazil – A joint meeting between the Salesians and the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians to strengthen the Salesian mission
(ANS – Belo Horizonte) – On 24 June 2026, the Salesians of the Belo Horizonte Brazil (BBH) Province and the FMA of the Mother Mazzarello (IMM) Province organised a joint meeting of their respective Provincial Councils at the Mother Mazzarello House in Belo Horizonte (MG). The aim of the meeting was to strengthen communion, dialogue and coordination of actions between the Salesians of Don Bosco and the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, in keeping with the Salesian charism. The programme began with a Mass presided over by Fr Ricardo Carlos, followed by moments of sharing and reflection on the General Chapters of the two Congregations. Among the topics discussed were the main guidelines of the 29th General Chapter of the Salesians of Don Bosco and the priority areas of the 25th General Chapter of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians. During the morning, the participants also shared the general guidelines for youth ministry in each province, reflected on the possibilities for joint action, and assessed the prospects for strengthening the educational and evangelising mission amongst young people. In the afternoon, the programme continued with a meeting of the Salesian Provincial Council, dedicated to analysing issues relating to Executive Management, the Audit and Salesian Youth Ministry. The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of the two provinces to networking, pastoral co-responsibility and the constant search for ways to foster an ever more meaningful Salesian presence amongst young people.
