(ANS – Caracas) – In a gathering filled with fraternal spirit, the Salesians of Venezuela celebrated the Day of Fidelity on 24 June 2026 at the Theological College in Caracas. The celebration began with a Mass of thanksgiving, presided over by Fr Elías Kasrin, who was marking the 50th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood. Also present for the occasion was Fr Hugo Orozco, Regional Councillor for Interamerica, together with a large group of Salesian priests. The day was then dedicated to honouring the following anniversaries: the 50th anniversary of Fr Kasrin’s ordination to the priesthood and the 25th anniversary of Fr Albert Pacheco’s; the 25th anniversary of religious profession for Fr Fabián Padilla and Salesian Brother Liborio Escalona. The event took place shortly before the devastating double earthquake that struck Venezuela, hitting La Guaira particularly hard – a strip of land on the country’s northern coast, some thirty kilometres from the capital, Caracas.
