(ANS – Grand Rapids) – The International Conference of Acton University 2026, currently taking place at the iconic DeVos Place Convention Centre in Grand Rapids, Michigan, was the setting for a warm meeting between two leaders from Salesian College (India): Fr George Thadathil, former Principal of Salesian College in Sonada-Siliguri, and Fr C.M. Paul, current Deputy Principal. The two, the only Salesians present at the event, met as recipients of the prestigious Acton University 2026 scholarship. Their meeting, which took place at one of the world’s most vibrant platforms for dialogue on the human person, faith, economics, politics and social ethics, highlighted Salesian College’s growing global engagement. This year’s Acton University brought together over 900 participants from more than 80 countries, testifying to its truly global nature. The conference featured over 120 sessions spread across 15 parallel venues, enabling participants to engage with a wide range of topics. As participants in the week-long programme, both Salesian educators attended sessions on artificial intelligence, human dignity, economic freedom, social ethics and global development. In conclusion, the event reaffirmed the growing academic presence of Salesian College and the global relevance of its mission.
