(ANS – California) – Seventy young campers participated in the 2026 edition of Camp Don Bosco, Rosemead, during a weeklong summer programme led by 50 senior and assistant counselors. The camp concluded as a tremendous success, marked by joy, friendship, and deep Salesian spirit. Highlights included Carnival Night, a lively COPA soccer tournament inspired by the World Cup season, creative cabin talent shows, and meaningful faith activities. A special moment came through the campers’ sand art presentations, reflecting the four pillars of the Salesian Oratory—home, school, playground, and church—demonstrating how deeply the young participants had internalized Salesian values. The camp’s strength lies in its young counselors, who mentor campers through loving-kindness, joyful service, and faith-centered leadership. Without elaborate facilities, Camp Don Bosco offers something more enduring: young people leading young people in an environment where friendship, responsibility, and God’s love are experienced daily. As the summer closes, Camp Don Bosco Rosemead looks ahead to 2027, continuing its mission of educating and accompanying the young in the spirit of Don Bosco.
