Tlaquepaque, Mexico – January 2026 – A Formation Week for Formators 2026 was held at the Salesian Theological College in Tlaquepaque, Jalisco from 5-8 January 2026. This is a well-established meeting that brings together formators, Vice-Provincials and Vocation Animators from the two Mexican provinces – Mexico-Guadalajara (MEG) and Mexico-México (MEM) – and the Central American Province (CAM). The event was organised by the Provincial Formation Commission of the MEG Province. The formation houses involved were the Prenovitiate in Irapuato (Guanajuato), the Novitiate in Coacalco (State of Mexico), and the Theologate in Tlaquepaque. The week began with a Mass presided over by Fr René Santos, CAM Vice-Provincial, followed by a greeting from Fr Filiberto González, MEG Provincial, and a video message from Fr Silvio Roggia, General Councillor for Formation. Participants received multidisciplinary formation, ranging from an in-depth study of the Ratio to workshops on nonviolent communication and a reflection on Artificial Intelligence in the educative and pastoral field. It was also a time of sharing among formators, with opportunities for dialogue and discussion on best practices in formation houses.
