This initiative is not merely a technological upgrade; it is a tangible response to the global call for ecological responsibility articulated by<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><strong><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">Pope Francis in Laudato Si\u2019<\/span><\/strong>, and echoed within the Salesian Congregation through the<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><strong><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">28th General Chapter<\/span><\/strong>, which underscores the importance of accompanying young people toward a sustainable future. The Rector Major, in the Post General Chapter 28 Reflection, had recommended that \u201cthe Congregation undertake to achieve 100 percent of renewable energy for all provinces around the world before 2032\u201d (AGC 433).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-IN\" style=\"color: black;\">Driven by this vision, the Salesian Province of Hyderabad undertook the ambitious task of installing solar power units in every one of its communities a dream achieved well ahead of the global target of 2032 established by General Chapter 28. The environmental impact of this initiative is profound: it is projected to<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><strong><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">reduce CO\u2082 emissions by 1093.29 tons annually<\/span><\/strong><b>, <\/b>equivalent to saving<span class=\"apple-converted-space\"><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/span><strong><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">32,806 trees<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>each year in the natural absorption of carbon. This initiative not only mitigates the ecological footprint of the province but also sets a powerful example for youth and society at large about the feasibility and urgency of clean energy adoption. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-IN\" style=\"color: black;\">Beyond environmental benefits, this initiative aligns with the Salesian mission of forming eco-conscious young leaders, demonstrating that faith-driven institutions can play a pivotal role in addressing global ecological challenges.
