Nairobi, Kenya \u2013 January 2026 \u2013 The second Formation Workshop for Rectors from French-speaking Salesian Provinces in Africa and Madagascar recently concluded in Nairobi. This seven-day programme brought together the new Rectors. The workshop was organised by the Salesian Formation Centre for Africa and Madagascar (Don Bosco SAFCAM) and was conducted in French, specifically for the provinces of the two Regions of Africa and Madagascar. It offered participants a space for reflection, learning and sharing on leadership responsibilities within the Salesian mission. The sessions were facilitated by Fr Camiel Swertvagher and Fr Gerald Umoh, with valuable contributions from the DBTA team, Fr Maximus Chikwem Okoro and Fr John Ngigi Njuguna. The programme addressed key themes such as leadership and governance, community animation and the spiritual and pastoral role of the Rector. Thirteen Salesians from seven African Provinces and Vice-Provinces participated in the workshop, representing ACC, AFC, AGL, AFC-EST Delegation, AOS, ATE and MDG. This experience fostered a strong spirit of fraternity and enabled participants to acquire concrete tools to serve their communities with a renewed vision and greater commitment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
