This formation house, which initially operated in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, at the provincial house, has now been relocated to C\u00f4te Mat\u00e8ve, in the city of Pointe-Noire, Republic of Congo. The foundation stone of this formation house was laid on 11 November 2024, as part of the Jubilee Year of Hope and 150 years of Salesian missions.<\/p>\n
Fr Alphonse Owoudou, Regional Superior for West Central Africa Region, opened the buildings, accompanied by Fr Aur\u00e9lien Mukangwa, Provincial of ACC, and the entire Provincial Council. The local ordinary, Bishop Abel Liluala, was represented at the event by the Vicar General.<\/p>\n
To further mark this event, in the presence of several supporters, past pupils of Don Bosco, students and members of the Salesian Family, the Regional, the Provincial, the Rector of the new community and two young people, a boy and a girl, each planted a tree in the C\u00f4te Mat\u00e8ve concession as part of integral ecology education, especially for the protection of our common home.<\/p>\n
On the eve of this event, Friday 30 January, Fr Alphonse Owoudou took part in the Provincial Council, with whom he concelebrated the Eucharist. On Sunday 1 February, the Christians of the parish of Saint John Bosco in Pointe-Noire welcomed the Regional Superior for a solemn Mass in honour of their patron saint.<\/p>\n
