(ANS – Macas) <\/strong>– The Don Bosco Catholic School in Macas, in the province of Morona Santiago, has received the Dr Vicente Rocafuerte Medal, the highest honour awarded by the National Assembly of Ecuador, in recognition of its 75 years of institutional life and educational, social and pastoral service in the Ecuadorian Amazon. The award highlights the journey of an institution that has accompanied the integral education of generations for decades, with a direct impact on the development of the city and the province. During the solemn ceremony, the Principal, María de Lourdes Mera, recalled the main milestones and educational legacy of these 75 years, emphasising the sense of community, Salesian identity and the mission to educate through faith and reason in the service of society. The award ceremony was presided over by Dr Roque Ordóñez, a member of the Ecuadorian Parliament representing the province of Azuay and a former pupil of the institute. In his speech, the MP emphasised that Salesian education transcends the classroom, promoting awareness and service, and stated that ‘Don Bosco’s values are present in the National Assembly’.
